Welcome to aerophotostock.com
This project has been created to share the archives of different aerial photographers, without
the intention to be another stock-agency, but with the ambition to grow to a worldwide resource
for aerial oblique photography.

Imagine a free accessible database where you can find a picture of any place in the world.
Where five years ago I would have judged this an impossible task, modern technology enables
us today to communicate across the globe with a computer and an internet connection. This is
basically what got us started. After having put our own database online, we contacted some
foreign colleagues. The reponse was so overwhelming that we decided to give the project
a serious try.

Images
Unlike stock-agencies we don't select images on subject or selling chance, we only remove
look-alikes (similar photographs of the same photographer), since we are convinced of each
photographer's talents and possibilities in his own area. All we require is some technical quality.

Why ?
Initially we thought that this project could generate publicity for the Aerophoto-Schiphol archives
(we still do). But working our way through many thousands of pictures, our team was captivated
by an unexplainable drive to launch this project to become really big and successful. Our main
goal has become to "show the world to the world".

Thumbs !!!!!
Because more and more people have fast internet we decided to, finally, ad thumbs; now the
historic Dutch database is full operational with thumbs, the other databases will follow soon.

Sponsor
The whole project is being sponsored by Aerophoto-Schiphol an aerial photography compagny
in the Netherlands. Thanks to a smart database setup and the dedicated help of many, we were
able to come where we are today. But with a fast growing database we will soon reach a level
were we may need additional funds. By then we will be searching a second sponsor.
